In 2015, 39% of all deaths were related to cardiovascular diseases. In recent years, there has been immense progress in the treatment of cardiovascular diseases. There are both medical and technical reasons for this development.

Nevertheless, it has also become increasingly difficult for patients and doctors to efficiently communicate with each other and for medical staff to sufficiently explain the many different procedures associated with the treatment options of cardiovascular diseases. Until now, doctors have typically only been able to explain the disease and the treatment options to the patient during a patient’s consultation by using words, drawings or pictures.

During consultation, a patient usually receives a great deal of information on modern therapy options, such as operations, interventions and ablations (interventions with catheters) within a short and rather restricted period of time. However, one can hardly sufficiently process such a mass amount of information as a non-professional. Often enough, patients do not dare to ask questions if they have not clearly understood something. The emotional strain is aggravating and dissatisfying – and it happens every day.

The CardioShowroom (CSR) explains the functioning of a healthy heart as well as cardiovascular diseases, their therapies and possible complications. The program is an interactive, intuitively operable 3D representation of a heart that significantly improves the quality of physician-patient communication.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]CardioShowroom (CSR) explains cardiovascular diseases and makes eventual complications visible

The CARDIOLECTRA CardioShowroom (CSR) is a program which greatly improves the level of a patient’s education and understanding. The images the patient sees in the CardioShowroom allow him/her to go into the OR/intervention/ablation with a better feeling. The patient can now visualize the pending procedures and the course of the procedure for themselves and can therefore have more confidence in the doctors preforming the procedure as well as in the procedure itself.

The aesthetics and technically well-designed animations of the CardioShowroom lead the patient to a much deeper and better-rooted understanding of not only the disease and upcoming procedure, but also of the risks involved with the chosen treatment. The CardioShowroom therefore provides much better support regarding a patient’s education than merely words, drawings or pictures medical personnel have attempted to supply thus far.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row padding_top_multiplier=”2x” padding_bottom_multiplier=”” margin_bottom=”5%”][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_column_text text_style=”leader-text”]

How does a healthy heart function?

[/vc_column_text]

[vc_column_text]The CardioShowroom (CSR) shows you exactly how it works. At the core of the CSR, there is a 3D heart that can be rotated, cut open, made transparent or zoomed in on. Interactive animations illustrate the functions of a healthy heart:

the pump function

the blood circulation

the heart rhythm and

the flap function.

One click opens the heart, making the blood vessels, valve structure and excitation conduction system become visible. The program uses comprehensible texts and allows you to take your time to not just look at how a healthy heart functions, but to experience it in 3D.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_column_text text_style=”leader-text”]

How does a sick heart look like?

[/vc_column_text]

[vc_column_text]Diseases and typical disease progressions can also be systematically selected and then displayed on the 3D model with merely the touch of a button.

From the four categories of cardiovascular diseases, the following four most common diseases can be systematically selected on the 3D model:

circulatory disorders (coronary heart disease)

heart rhythm disturbances

flap defect

heart failure (heart failure)

The corresponding courses typically associated with these diseases can be seen and an explanatory animation can be obtained at just the touch of a button.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_column_text text_style=”leader-text”]

How do you cure a diseased heart?

[/vc_column_text]

[vc_column_text]In the following step you can see the different technical therapy possibilities of the disease. You can see the effects of both established and novel treatment methods. For example, you can see how a closed artery is reopened with catheter technology in the event of a heart attack.

In the case of a narrowed aortic valve – the large valve between the left ventricle and the aorta – CSR clearly shows how the valve affected by calcification is dilated and then a biological aortic valve prosthesis is released.

Improved understanding of cardiovascular diseases

The modern 3D view provides a better understanding of both diseases and treatment options. Many questions about certain techniques and procedures may already be answered by simply clicking on the therapeutic device to be used.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row padding_top_multiplier=”3x” padding_bottom_multiplier=”3x” columns_gap=”60″ equal_column_height=”equal-column” section_id=”csr-professional”][vc_column][vc_column_text text_style=”leader-text”]

For consultations taking place at a heart failure outpatient department, valve outpatient department, rhythm outpatient department

[/vc_column_text]

[vc_column_text]The CSR is an interactive, intuitively operable 3D representation of a heart that significantly improves the quality of physician-patient communication. The CardioShowroom (CSR) was developed by a cardiologist. The interactive 3D consultation instrument supports the specialist physician, cardiologist or heart surgeon during the patient consultation, in the special outpatient department or in a cardiological practice with first-class 3D animation features.

The excellent visual support provided gives the consultation a new and enhanced quality that strengthens the patient’s confidence in the physician and their chosen treatment method. Questions can be better answered and explained, many of which may even be eliminated due to the improved visualization of information given.

The consultation time required is less, but the quality is higher and the patient is left with a better feeling due their understanding of the disease and the intervention to take place. A patient’s confidence in their physician and their treatment is strengthened thanks to our high technical standards.

The program can be individually adapted so that the physician’s preferred types of intervention for the respective disease are automatically selected by the program, e.g. certain techniques preferred by medical personnel for the ablation of atrial fibrillation.

The heart model is displayed on a large 32″ or 42″ diameter touchscreen monitor.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text text_style=”leader-text”]

Program Content

[/vc_column_text]

[vc_column_text]ANATOMY
Chambers
Right and left atrium
Right and left ventricle

Coronary vessels
Left main coronary artery
Left anterior descending artery
Circumflex artery
Right coronary artery
Coronary sinus
Great cardiac vein
Middle cardiac vein
Small cardiac vein

Cardiac conduction system
Sinus node
Intermodal conduction tracts
Atrioventricular node
Bundle of His
Tawara branches

Valves
Aortic valves
Mitral valves
Pulmonary valve
Tricuspid valve[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″]

[vc_column_text]FUNCTIONS
Blood circulation
Circulation coronary arteries
Excitation process
Pump function
Function of the valves

DISEASE AND TREATMENT
Coronary heart disease
Simple Stenosis
Prophylaxis
Unstable angina pectoris
Heart attack

Cardiac arrhythmias
Bradycardia
Tachycardia

Structural heart diseases
Valvuar heart disease
Aortic Valve Stenosis/Tavi
Mitral Insufficiency/Mitraclip

Heart failure
Left-sided heart failure
Prophylaxis
Global Heart Failure

TREATMENT RISKS
Pericardial Tamponade
Pericardial Drainage[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

[vc_row heading_color=”dark” bg_type=”color” padding_top_multiplier=”2x” padding_bottom_multiplier=”2x” margin_bottom=”5%” bg_color=”#c8c9c7″][vc_column][vc_column_text text_style=”leader-text”] Better treatment of cardiovascular diseases thanks to medical research and technical innovations [/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Most people in Germany still die from cardiovascular diseases.
